Match end : Bangladesh win by 9 wickets
Bangladesh defeated South Africa for the first time ever in a bilateral series. This is also their fourth successive ODI series win at home. The way they are playing, it seems like they will destroy any team that plays on Bangladeshi soil. Remarkable going by the Tigers!
Also, South Africa's defeat was their biggest against a sub-continent team. Not something they would be proud of.
Wicket : Sarkar falls on 90

Milestone : Tamim joins Sarkar
Well well well, not only South Africa are losing but they are being hammered by the Bangladeshi openers. After Sarkar, it was Tamim's turn to get to his fifty, his 31st in ODIs. The duo also brought up the 150-run stand and Bangladesh now require less than 20 runs to seal the series.
Milestone : Sarkar brings up his fifty
Soumya Sarkar brought up his fourth ODI fifty and kept Bangladesh on track. In fact, it was the fastest fifty by a Bangladeshi batsman against South Africa. He also shared a century stand with Tamim Iqbal, who was nearing a fifty of his own.
What a systematic South African destruction this is!
Update : So easy, so cool
Looks like Bangladesh are going to thrash South Africa in this ODI too. The openers Tamim Iqbal and Soumya Sarkar brought up the half-century stand with ease. They just went about their business and scored runs. Soumya was the aggressor in the partnership had already hit 6 fours so far.
Innings break : Duminy fifty, then Abbott falls
Jean Paul Duminy was the only one who fought back as South Africa kept on losing wickets at regular intervals. He brought up his 21st ODI fifty, a knock that included just three fours but did well to stand in there as long as possible to help South Africa past 160.
The final over was an exciting one. Rubel dismissed Kyle Abbott on 5 on the second delivery by a fantastic yorker. The very next ball, Bangladesh missed out on a run-out chance, saving Duminy. However, he got out on the final delivery of the innings, as he sliced one towards point.
South Africa have finished on 168/9 in their 40 overs. Not much to boast, can Bangladesh chase this easily? By the way, the hosts need 170 to win (D/L adjusted target)
Wicket : Shakib gets the 201st
Farhan Behardien never looked comfortable in the middle. He was edging everything and not able to connect his bat properly. He finally perished to Shakib, giving him his third wicket of the match. And special thanks to Sabbir Rahman, for holding onto another stunner, this time at long-on. Behardien came down the track and lofted the flighted delivery towards long-on, where Sabbir caught it, threw it in the air, jumped over the rope, came back, and caught it again.
Wicket : Miller departs after match resumes
Joining Shakib, Mortaza also picked up his 200th ODI wicket. It was a brilliant catch by Sabbir Rahman at backward point. Miller went for the cut on a short ball and Rahman at backward point dived full length to his right to snaffle a good low take.
This is the first time 2 players in the same team have got their 200th wicket in the same game!
Update : Good news? You decide!
Neil Manthorp has tweeted the latest the match can start for a 20-over game to happen is 22:15 with 23:45 finish. Another FOUR hours wait! Woah! But of course, we need the rain to stop and the cleaning work done by then.
Latest news: It will be a 40-overs a side game with 20 minutes innings break. Still about 17 overs left in the first innings.
Update : Oh dear! Rain is heavy now

Rain interruption : SA were 78/4 when rain arrived
Wicket : South Africa lose the fourth
South Africa slipped further as they lost their fourth wicket - Mahmudullah removed Rilee Rossouw on 17. The batsman had a hit a few fantastic shots and was just stabilizing the innings alongside David Miller. He went for the pull but got an under edge and Mushfiqur, the keeper, held onto to a smart take.
Stat :

Wicket : 200th wicket for Shakib
Shakib Al Hasan got the big wicket of Hashim Amla and picked up his 200th ODI wicket. Amla was enticed into playing a drive but the ball turned away and took the edge, offering a simple catch to the keeper.
Just in Shakib's previous over, Amla had got a reprieve on 13. Sabbir Rahman had dropped him in the cover region.
Wicket : Nearly a milestone
Shakib Al Hasan got his 199th wicket in ODIs by dismissing Faf du Plessis on 6. The batsman went for a slog sweep but got a big top-edge and the ball went high up in the air. The keeper just had to move to his left to snaffle it.
South Africa in trouble already. They have only 20 on the board in 8 overs and have already lost two wickets.
Wicket : Bangladesh lose a review, then get a wicket
Only the second over and Bangladesh have already lost their review. Quinton de Kock survived an lbw appeal on 2. Mortaza was bowling and he thought he had trapped de Kock but the umpire disagreed. Eventually, it turned out to be a waste of a review for the hosts as Hawk-Eye showed that the ball was pitching outside leg.
In the very next over, de Kock was bowled by Mustafizur Rahman. de Kock went for a loose whip off the on-side but failed to connect and ended up losing his leg stump.
Toss and Teams : South Africa opt to bat
South Africa skipper Hashim Amla won the toss and elected to bat first. Morne Morkel came in for the visitors in place of Chris Morris. On the other hand, Bangladesh are unchanged.
Teams:
South Africa (Playing XI): Hashim Amla(c), Quinton de Kock(w), Faf du Plessis, Rilee Rossouw, David Miller, Jean-Paul Duminy, Farhaan Behardien, Morne Morkel, Kagiso Rabada, Kyle Abbott, Imran Tahir

Tweet : Eid Mubarak!

Build-up :
There is a reason why Bangladesh are called Tigers and they showed just what being Tigers is all about when they crushed South Africa in the second ODI by 8 wickets. A solid bowling performance by the hosts saw them bowling out the Proteas for a paltry 162. Nasir Hossain and Mustafizur Rahman picked up three wickets each. Chasing the total was not tough for the hosts as Soumya Sarkar and Mahmudullah comfortably got them there.
South Africa, on the other hand, need to save face and clinch the series. Read more in the previewhere. Let's see what happens in the Toss and Teams.
