Post-game reactions :
Rahim: 'I thought I was really lucky. I thought Tamim deserved it more. It is dedicated to my wife. The boys really did a great job. The preparation was really good. If someone fails, someone puts their hand up every time. This was a pressure match for us, but we are happy to win here. '
Mushfiqur Rahim is the Man of the Match for his knock of 106.
Shakib: 'I thought Tamim and Rahim batted really well. It was a good wicket to bat on, but we never thought that we can score that much. So credit goes to those two. '
Azhar Ali: 'We made some mistakes in the field. They played really well. We dropped some catches at the wrong time, but credit should go to the Bangladeshi batsmen. There are a few positives, especially Rizwan, who showed his class with the bat. We made some mistakes and hopefully, we can rectify them. As a bowling unit, we made some mistakes. We have only one day and we will try and fix it before the next game.'

Wickets : Quick wickets leave Pakistan deep in trouble
Arafat Sunny helped Bangladesh take a massive step towards a win as he had Fahad Alam and Saad Nasim out in the same over. Pakistan slipped to 217/6 and were in need of a miracle.
Debutant Rizwan got to his fifty soon after, and Pakistan will need him to play a blinder if they are to clinch a win.

Update : Ali falls after fine stand
Azhar Ali's first knock as captain ended in the 28th over as he edged Taskin Ahmed behind to Mushfiqur Rahim to end a 89-run stand. The match hangs in the balance now, Bangladesh have done well to pull back. Another wicket now could sway the match in their favour. They got that wicket 27 runs later as Haris Sohail yet again failed to convert his start into a big score and was out caught for 51.
Update : Sohail, Ali steady Pakistan
Azhar Ali and Haris Sohail weer involved in a fine stand that saw Pakistan shift pressure onto their opponents. The duo scored at a brisk pace, before suddenly stepping on the gas to score a boundary. At the drinks interval, taken after the 18th over, Pakistan were 95/2.
Ali went on to bring up his fifty soon after.
Update : Solid start for visitors
Chasing a massive total, Pakistan made a steady start with the openers helping the side reach the 50-run mark in the 10th over. Azhar Ali, who came out to open the innings, and Sarfaraz Ahmed were playing well in tandem and were able to help the scorecard move along at a good pace. They lost Sarfaraz soon after as his lofted sweep found Nasir Hossain at backward square-leg.
Mohd Hafeez's return to the Pakistan ODI side ended in failure, as he was run out in the 13th over to leave his side in a spot of bother.
Update : Bangladesh end with 329/6
Bangladesh have done brilliantly to finish with such a strong total. It took two fine hundreds from Mushfiqur Rahim and Tamim Iqbal to lay the platform, and the middle-order then did their bit by helping the side post 329. This looks good enough for Bangladesh to defeat Pakistan for the first time sincethat World Cup game in 1999.
Wicket : Tamim falls; Bangladesh look for strong finish
Tamim Iqbal was out after making 132, but Mushfiqur Rahim went on to bring up his hundred as Bangladesh went past the 285-run mark. With more than four overs to go, the home side would be looking at posting in excess of 330.
Batting PP : Bangladesh batsmen make merry
The first over of the powerplay, bowled by Riaz, yielding 11 runs.Ajmal, who conceded 14 runs in the over before the powerplay, went for some runs again as Tamim took the attack to him in the second over of the batting PP. Eighteen runs came in the 37th over, which included a six and two fours off Tamim's bat. The 38th over yielded 11 runs with Rahat Ali conceding a couple of boundaries with Rahim playing a couple of lofted shots.
The first three overs of batting powerplay was profitable for Bangladesh as Tamim and Rahim managed 40 runs. Junaid Khan and Rahat Ali kept it slightly tight in the last two overs of the powerplay, but the third wicket pair managed 55 runs off the five overs to put Bangladesh on track for a sizeable total. After 40 overs, the hosts were 236/2.
Landmark : Tamim hundred propels Bangladesh
Tamim Iqbal went on to notch up a superb hundred, his fifth ODI hundred, as Bangladesh set themselves a huge platform. Rahim, too, had gotten his eye in, bringing up a fine fifty for his side. Bangladesh immediately started to go on the attack.
Update : Bdesh up the ante
Tamim Iqbal gave the Bangladesh innings some impetus for a strong finish as he slammed Haris Sohail for two back-to-back sixes. Pakistan's misery was further compounded when Junaid Khan put down a straight-forward chance to send back Rahim in the next over.

Landmark : Tamim fifty lifts Bangladesh
Tamim Iqbal found the ideal partner in former captain Mushfiqur Rahim, and the duo quickly set about stemming the rot caused by the fall of two quick wickets. Iqbal went on to notch up his 29th ODI fifty and also became the highest run-scorer for Bangladesh in ODIs, overtaking skipper Shakib al Hasan.
Wicket : Sarkar runs out of ideas
Pakistan finally got the breakthrough they were looking for as Wahab Riaz effected the run-out of Soumya Sarkar. The left-hander made an ill-judged decision to complete a single from right under the bowlers nose, and was caught a couple of millimeters short of the crease. He was out for 20.
The wicket brings out Bangladesh's World Cup hero, Mahmudullah. The right-hander, however, could not get his side to dominate proceedings. He struggled to get going during his brief cameo, and was out bowled for five off 18 balls.

User Comment : From Abdul Waqar
#Saeed Ajmal will not do well with his new bowling action. He needs to play domestic cricket and work hard.(He has been pretty economical, though.)
Update : Well, it's been a while
Saeed Ajmal is back, and bowling for Pakistan. Boy, did they miss him during the World Cup.
Let's see what magic he can conjure today. What do you reckon?

Update : Steady start for Bangladesh
Opting to bat first, Bangladesh made a steady start with their openers - Tamim Iqbal and Soumya Sarkar - seeing off the new ball bowlers without any setbacks. After a rather cautious start, the openers stepped on the gas, with Sarkar slamming back-to-back boundaries off Rahat Ali, while Iqbal got one off Junaid Khan. Bangladesh went past the 40-run mark in the eighth over.
Pitch Report :
There's quite a lot of live grass. There should be good carry and bounce off the deck. The captains will be tempted to play more pacers. The batsmen should be watchful, runs will come as the innings progresses, the team winning the toss might opt to bowl first,' reckons Athar Ali Khan
Toss and Teams : Bangladesh opt to bat in opener
Bangladesh have won the toss and Shakib al Hasan, who is skippering in place of Mortaza, has asked Pakistan to chase. Here's some team news from the Pakistan camp. Mohammad Rizwan, the wicket-keeper batsman and Saad Nasim, the all-rounder, are set to make their ODI debuts for Pakistan.
Build Up : Start of a new era for Pakistan
It's the beginning of a new era in Pakistan cricket. Misbah-ul-Haq and Shahid Afridi announced their ODI retirements at the end of the 2015 Cricket World Cup. Saeed Ajmal, who missed the sport's biggest tournament after his action was found to be illegal, returns after having rectified his bowling action. Azhar Ali, who wasn't considered good enough to be a part of the 15-member WC squad has been named as the captain. Wicket-keeper batsman, Sarfraz Ahmed, will be his deputy. Also returning to the team is Mohammad Hafeez, who missed the World Cup with an injury.
On the other hand, hosts, Bangladesh are a confident unit. They put up their best ever performance in the World Cup scalping England before eventually losing to India in the quarter-final at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Mashrafe Mortaza led an inspired show from the Tigers, but he will be missing today, serving his one-match ban for slow over-rate during the Q/F match against India.
