Taijul Islam hat-trick seals Bangladesh whitewash over Zimbabwe

Taijul Islam became the first bowler to take a hat-trick on his one-day international debut as Bangladesh completed a 5-0 series whitewash against Zimbabwe with a five-wicket win at Mirpur.
Taijul, who made his Test debut in September, began his second spell with Zimbabwe 120-5 and removed Solomon Mire with his first ball back.
But there was much more to come from the 22-year-old as he then accounted for Tinashe Panyangara with the last ball of the over and when he returned, he dismissed John Nyumbu and Tendai Chatara to complete his hat-trick.
That spell of 4-11 left Zimbabwe reeling as they collapsed from 95-1 to 128 all out in 30 overs, allowing the hosts to chase down their target in just 24.3 overs.
Having chased in all four of the previous matches in the series, Zimbabwe opted to bat first here and the decision looked a good one as Hamilton Masakadza helped them to 60-1 from their first 10 overs.
He brought up his 50 in 48 balls with three sixes and five fours, but added just two more before he was clean bowled by Jubair Hossain to end a stand of 79 with Vusi Sibanda and spark the collapse.
Bangladesh's reply was not without its hiccups as Tamim Iqbal (10) holed out to third man off Tinashe Panyangara and Anamul Haque (8) followed six balls later, caught by Masakadza at first slip off Tendai Chatara.
When Soumya Sarkar (20) and Shakib Al Hasan (0) then fell, Zimbabwe sniffed a chance with Bangladesh 58-4, but Mahmudullah (51no) steadied matters - bringing up his half-century with the winning runs as he and Sabbir Rahman (13no) steered their side home with 153 balls to spare.
