Kohli ran back towards the mid-wicket boundary in pursuit of a mistimed aerial swipe from Steve Smith. He lunged for a catch, but the ball was just out of reach.
Kohli quickly leapt to his feet as the ball trickled towards the boundary rope and tried to stop the ball with his foot, only to completely miss his target and watch the ball go for four.
The patient SCG members cherished their opportunity, giving Kohli a standing ovation — for all the wrong reasons — as he put his hands on his hips in disbelief of his mistake.
