the other hand, the Pakistani bowlers bowled well in patches, especially Sohail Khan,
who was the chief destroyer. In his first spell of 7 overs, he picked up 2
wickets and gave away just 25 runs. However, Javed carved Sohail for 20,
including 2 sixes and 2 fours in his 8th over. The other bowlers chipped in
with a few good overs as well, but they lacked the killer instinct as they
failed to pick up all the wickets.

Khurram Khan fell for 43 in the 30th over, but Shaiman Anwar kept battling through the middle
stages. He registered yet another fifty, his 3rd fifty plus score in this
edition of the World Cup. He also overtook Kumar Sangakkara, to become the top run-scorer in the World Cup till now. After Anwar departed on
62, Patil and Javed then took on the mantle of keeping the Pakistani bowlers
out. They did extremely well in the final overs. Patil knocked the ball
around and looked for singles while Javed hit a few lusty blows out of the park
to provide some entertainment to the crowd. In fact, this is UAE's highest score against any top 8 nation in ODIs.
