Stumps : Mominul falls in the final over of the day

Pakistan got the danger man Mominul out for 80 in the final over of the day, as Zulfiqar Babar secured his first wicket of the game. He was given out LBW by Nigel Llong, the on-field umpire but opted for a review after consulting with his partner Shakib Al Hasan. Hawk-Eye showed that it was plumb and Pakistan heaved a sigh of relief.

Earlier in the day, the bowlers were disciplined but some poor fielding allowed the Bangladeshi batsmen to capitalize. Mominul and Mahmudullah put up a solid 95-run partnership for the third wicket and the former then combined with Shakib to establish a 49-run fourth wicket stand. Mominul's wicket in the final over has now placed Pakistan on equal footing. If they stick to their line and lengths and field better tomorrow, they might have a chance of restricting the hosts from putting too much on the board.

Wicket : Mahmudullah misses his fifty, Pak waste review

The drinks break distracted a well-set Mahmudullah, who was stuck on 49 for a long time. Wahab Riaz came back into the attack and removed the solid batsman, thus ending the 95-run stand for the third wicket. The batsman had poked at an away going delivery and nicked it to the keeper. Sarfraz, who was alert, quickly dived to his right and held onto a good one-handed take.

In the next over, Pakistan appealed for a catch against Mominul off Yasir's bowling. Sarfraz and the fielder were confident and immediately reviewed the call. However, replays showed that the ball had completely missed the bat. The sound created by the bat hitting the ground had confused the Pakistan fielders. Pakistan have nowlost both their reviews.

Fifty : Mominul fifty fortifies Bangladesh

After Tea, the duo of Mominul and Mahmudullah continued theirdominance over the Pakistan bowlers. Mominul, in fact, became the seventh player to register fifty-plus scores in 10 consecutive Tests. He was well supported by Mahmudullah, who is batting in his 40s. Both batsmen have solidified Bangladesh's position and the hosts look good for a big first innings total.

Tea update : Mominul, Mahmudullah stay strong

Bangladesh scored 90 runs in the post-Lunch session for the loss of Kayes' wicket. Mominul Haque and Mahmudullah combined well to bring up a 50-plus stand for the third wicket. Both batsmen are currently in their 30s and will look to complete their respective half-centuries in the final session. Pakistan put down quite a few chances in the field otherwise they could have had Bangladesh in trouble. Final session coming up...

Update : Bangladesh persistent in their approach

Pakistan were poor in the field. Mominul was dropped on 17 by Babar off his own bowling. He has dropped anchor, slowly building his innings. At the other hand, Mahmudullah has picked up pace and hit a couple of fours. With over 40 overs left in the day, Bangladesh would be looking forward to add another 150-odd runs to the total.

Wicket : Kayes falls after his fifty

Just when Kayes along with Mominul had started to stabilize Bangladesh innings after Tamim's departure, Mohammad Hafeez struck to remove Kayes for 51. The batsman had just got to his second Test fifty and his highest score against Pakistan but could not capitalize on the start. He closed the bat face too early while working the ball on the leg-side and ended up offering a simple catch back to the bowler.

Lunch update : Bangladesh slow, Pakistan disciplined

As the match progressed and with the pitch offering some assistance to the spinners, Pakistan employed Mohammad Hafeez, Zulfiqar Babar and Yasir Shah into the attack. Kayes and Tamim then looked to score some boundaries, but the latterwas dismissed by Yasir Shah for 25. The ball has now started to reverse a bit and it will be interesting to see how the Bangladeshi batsmen handle Junaid and Riaz. Post-lunch session coming up soon...

Wicket : Tamim departs for 25

Pakistan were finally able to get a breakthrough when Yasir Shah dismissed Tami Iqbal in his second over. The batsman got an inside edge as he looked to defend and the ball was quickly snapped up by Azhar Ali at forward short leg. However, the umpires were not sure whether it was a legitimate delivery. Replays showed that Yasir's foot had landed on the line and after much deliberation the decision was ruled in Pakistan's favour.

Update : Pakistan bowlers ineffective

The pitch is flat and the Pakistan bowlers are toiling in vain. Misbah has now bought Yasir Shah into the attack. In his first over, Kayes almost hit a flighted delivery straight into the short mid-wicket's hands but the ball fell short. Bangladesh are slow, very much so but seem to be batting comfortably.

It has been overcast since morning. The groundstaff are waiting near the boundary rope with the covers but at the moment the sun seems to be playing hide and seek. Scattered showers are expected throughout the day. ©

Update : Steady start

Bangladesh have begun steadily. Except for the first eventful over, it has been easy going for Bangladesh. The openers are not taking any risks and have had no trouble from the bowlers so far.

Update : Pak waste a review

The first over of the game was quite melodramatic as Pakistan reviewed a LBW call against Imrul Kayes on the third ball of the match. Junaid had started off with the proceedings. Kayes let go off a good length delivery by shouldering arms to it, however, the ball brushed his thigh pad while doing so. This drew out a loud appeal from the wicketkeeper and the bowler. Although the on-field umpire Ranmore Martinesz shook his head, Pakistan skipper Misbah-ul-Haq decided to review it at the insistence of Sarfraz. Needless to say, Hawk-Eye showed that the ball was comfortably missing off-stump and Kayes survived.

Bangladesh opted to bat first but the biggest surprise was the non-inclusion of Saeed Ajmal. The offie had been under warning for chucking and Pakisan are being cautious with him.

After a historic win in the limited overs leg, Bangladesh will now seek the same sort of spirit in the Tests as well. Both teams will bear a slightly different look now and Pakistan appear stronger with the presence of Misbah ul Haq and Younis Khan. However they will be facing the spirited home team under familiar conditions. Bangladesh might not have a better chance of creating an upset.

Ahmedabad: After being defeated by the Royal Challengers Bangalore in a one-sided game, Rajasthan Royals coach Paddy Upton said his team was 30 runs short, as 170 on board could have been a good total against the rival team. (Full Coverage of IPL 2015)

"Our top order could not do well, some more runs on board could do better. A total of 170 or some 30 to 40 runs on board could have been a good total and not an easy one to chase," Upton told reporters.

Earlier in the match, RCB easily chased a total of 130 runs by losing just the one wicket of Chris Gayle. (RCB's Momentum Can Change Now: Kohli)

A crucial partnership of 97 runs between the RCB captain Virat Kohli (62 runs) and AB de Villiars helped the team to finish the game in 17th run.

When asked about the poor selection of shots by RR's batsman especially the young players, Upton said he was not disappointed with them as they had played as per the specific directions given to them.

Upton also said the momentum shifted to RCB when Karun Nair was run out on 16 runs and his team lost three wickets in 72 runs on board.

He said the RR has batting depth upto nine players, but as their middle order did not get exposure in earlier matches, they could not do well in this match.

However, RCB has explosive batsmen like Virat Kohli and AB de Villiars who could have charged the game to their side.

While, RCB pacer Mitchell Starc, also said that the run out of Karun Nair by local boy Harshal Patel in crucial time has shifted to momentum to his team and it helped them to restrict RR in 130 run.

Starc, who took three wickets in game, said his team did not do good wither with bat or bowl, but they have improved their performance in all sides of the game.

Kohli has also played a good knock in the game and RCB has hopes that he will continue with such performance in the next games, he said.

Chennai Super Kings Spin Department has Been Less Effective in IPL 8, says Stephen Fleming

India's frontline spinners R. Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja play for the Chennai Super Kings but the two men have looked rusty so far in the Indian Premier League this year.

Chennai: Chennai Super Kings coach Stephen Fleming conceded that the spin department of his side has not been as effective as compared to previous IPL seasons but denied that the team management has lost confidence to the slow bowlers. (Full Coverage of the Indian Premier League)

"The spin part of the game is not as effective as it was in previous years so far. That is one area we would like to give a bit of more penetration. But our bowling attack is working well. We can give the spin component in middle overs," Fleming said at the media conference ahead of his side's IPL match against Kings XI Punjab on Saturday. (Chennai Super Kings Valued Only Rs 5 Lakhs?)

Asked if captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has lost confidence in Ravichandran Ashwin who has bowled just four overs in last three games and Ravindra Jadeja, Fleming said, "It is some match situation. Ashwin was the main bowler in the first two games here and was a leading bowler. We know that Ashwin bowls very well in home conditions."

"Jadeja, we feel is a little bit out off. But he is working hard on it. I think the pitch conditions we played during the last three games, we thought favoured medium pace and that pushes spin component back a little bit. But, we have got lot of options in our squad. I do not believe that Dhoni lost confidence in them," said the former New Zealand captain.

Fleming is pleased with the performance of veteran pacer Ashish Nehra, the leading wicket taker for his side.

"Nehra is in good form. I would say he is our ace in bowling. He is a rhythm bowler. When he is in form, Nehra is quite quick and he has got everything working for him. When he is out of rhythm he just struggles but he is in the groove at the moment. He is swinging the ball with good pace and has got good experience behind him," he said.

"Nehra has been a revelation in leading the attack and he leads the group. We are delighted what he has done thus far. What he has done thus far has been outstanding," he added.

On South African batsman Faf du Plessis' role in the team, Fleming said, "In the last game, he played the role of finisher very well. It was a crucial game for us and we wanted to finish between 185 or 195. He has come to our group during the last two years in different roles. He is doing very well internationally and for us."

IPL 2015: Lasith Malinga's Four Helps Mumbai Indians Down Sunrisers Hyderabad

Despite a rather average total of 157/9, Mumbai Indians managed to defeat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 20 runs

Mumbai: Pace bowlers Lasith Malinga and Mitchell McClenaghan came up with stellar bowling display to help Mumbai Indians defend a modest score and beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 20 runs in their IPL cricket match here on Sunday. (Scorecard | Highlights | Match pics)

Sri Lankan Malinga grabbed his season's best four for 23, including three wickets in his last over, while New Zealander Mcclenaghan picked up three for 20 that included top scorer Shikhar Dhawan's scalp, to restrict the Sunrisers to 137 for eight, chasing a target of 158.

The Sunrisers lost their way after a brisk opening stand between left-handers Dhawan, who top-scored with 42 off 29 balls, and David Warner (9).

Once these two departed within a short span to leave the Sunrisers reeling at 52 for two in six overs, the other batsmen did not prove to be good enough.

Earlier, electing to bat, MI rode on opener Lendl Simmons's 51 off 42 balls and some useful contributions from skipper Rohit Sharma (24) and West Indian Kieron Pollard (33) to reach a total of 157 for eight.

The victory, which was only their second of the season in seven games, helped MI stay afloat in their quest to reach the play-offs. This was Sunrisers fourth defeat in six games.

Chasing the target, the visitors set off to a fine start with Dhawan scoring at a fast pace. From the moment he caressed Harbhajan Singh's first ball of the innings to the cover fence, he looked in fine nick.

The left handed Indian opener later struck Harbhajan for three fours and a six in the bowler's second over to banish the offie from the attack.

Warner, watching from the other end, also hit Harbhajan for a four but then holed out to third man off a short ball from Malinga.

Then Dhawan departed while pulling Mitchell McClenaghan to short mid-wicket.

MI sensed a whiff of a chance with the visitors at 52 for two at the end of powerplay and applied pressure on new batsmen Lokesh Rahul and Naman Ojha with some tight bowling and sharp fielding.

Ojha fell to the strategy of the Mumbai Indians, as he needlessly gave the charge to left arm spinner and was consumed at long-off.

The going was slow during the next wicket stand between Rahul and Ravi Bopara, both of whom put on just 36 off 37 balls, before the former stepped out to attack McClenaghan and was caught at deep extra cover off the leading edge.

When Rahul's wicket fell, the visitors needed just 54 more runs to win from 31 balls.

But they lost Bopara, Hanuma Vihari, Praveen Kumar and Steyn for the addition of just one run to the total, to lose the plot completely. From 126 for four, the Sunrisers were reduced to 127 for eight.

McClenaghan got the wicket of Bopara while the remaining three were sent back by an inspired Malinga in one over. The wickets of Praveen and Steyn fell in successive balls before Karn Sharma, who remained unbeaten, prevented the hat-trick.

Earlier, electing to bat, Mumbai Indians got off to a steady, if not explosive start, with openers Simmons and Parthiv Patel putting on 42 runs.

The partnership was broken off the last ball of the sixth over when left-handed Patel flicked South Africa pacer Dale Steyn straight to the deep mid wicket fielder.

Praveen then dismissed Unmukt Chand cheaply. But Simmons, who swung leggie Karn Sharma for a six over mid wicket besides hitting six fours, and captain Rohit Sharma (24) added 51 runs to take the score to 100.

However, both the batsmen fell in quick succession, within the space of eight runs.

Simmons was castled by Steyn while trying for a leg side slog while Rohit was caught in the deep when giving the charge to leg spinner Karn.

Though Kieron Pollard held one end up, MI lost the wickets of Ambati Rayudu and Harbhajan to catches in the deep to be reduced to 128 for six with 15 balls remaining.

The hopes of reaching a big score rested on Pollard, who hit three fours and a six, but he was clean bowled by Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the first ball of the final over.

Bhuvneshwar, who grabbed three for 26, then saw off Vinay Kumar in the next ball itself.

Steyn and Praveen Kumar picked up a couple of wickets apiece after conceding 38 and 35 runs, respectively.

Boult, who had missed the previous two games, was economical and used his slower balls to good effect, while Karn secured the other wicket that fell.

MI take on table toppers Rajasthan Royals next on May 1 here, while Sunrisers travel to Mohali to clash with Kings XI Punjab on April 27.

IPL 8: Brendon McCullum, Spinners Fashion Super Kings' Resounding Win Over Kings XI Punjab

Chennai: Chennai Super Kings thrashed Kings XI Punjab by a huge margin of 97 runs here today, extracting a sweet revenge for a string of three losses to them in the last season of the Indian Premier League.

Brendon McCullum (66 off 44 balls) and Mahendra Singh Dhoni (41* off 27) propelled Super Kings to 192 for three before the spinners put up a stellar show to limit Kings XI to 95 for nine in 20 overs. Kings XI showed little fight in the run chase as Ashwin(2/14) and Jadeja (3/22) ran through their batting on a helping pitch. (HIGHLIGHTS)

With the comprehensive win, Super Kings move to the top of the table with five victories from six games while Kings XI were handed their fourth loss in six matches.

The clinical hosts had the game in the bag after they reduced the Kings XI to 55 for five in the 10th over. The away team could never recover after suffering a major setback at the start of the chase, losing Virender Sehwag (1) and the in-form Shaun Marsh (10) to make it 35 for two.

Ashwin and Jadeja came to the party there after, foxing the opposition batsmen one by one to guide their team to an easy win.

Opener Murali Vijay (34) hit some lusty blows as wickets kept tumbling at the other end and once he departed, it was all but over for Kings XI.

Earlier, McCullum struck a blazing half century to take Super Kings to a formidable score. McCullum and Dwayne Smith (26 off 13) laid the foundation for a big score before captain Dhoni came up with a timely cameo to end the innings on a high.

While Super Kings batted well, Kings XI did not help their cause by offering loosing balls regularly besides being sloppy on the field.

The dangerous duo of Smith and McCullum gave another cracking start to their team and toyed with the promising bowling attack of Kings XI. The visitors' move to open with leg-spinner Karanveer Singh did not pay off as he gave away 26 runs in his first two over before being taken off. Smith plundered 22 runs off Karanveer's second over, smashing him for two straight sixes and as many fours.

McCullum took medium pacer Sandeep Sharma to the cleaners in the next over, pulling him for a massive six over mid-wicket and cutting him for a boundary.

First change Anureet Singh picked up a timely wicket off Smith in fifth over and that put a halt to the onslaught from both ends. The West Indian was a tad unfortunate as he elbowed a leg-stump delivery on to the stumps, leaving his team at 50 for one in 4.4 overs.

It would have been a double blow for Super Kings in the same over had Johnson not dropped a skier at mid-off to give a life to McCullum, who was on 21. The New Zealand captain made the opposition pay for their faulty fielding by reaching his second 50 plus score of the tournament. His entertaining knock included three sixes and eight boundaries.

McCullum alongside Suresh Raina got the innings going at a brisk pace with the hosts reaching 97 for one in 10 overs. He eventually fell to left-arm spinner Axar Patel in the 12th over, setting an ideal platform at 116 for two wiRaina too benefited from Johnson's misses on the field as the Australia dropped the Indian batsmen in the 11th over while fielding at deep mid-wicket. The southpaw's innings however ended abruptly when he was run out while backing up the at the non-striker's end.

It was Dhoni show towards the end of the innings as he hit some of his trademark shots to enthrall the crowd. His innings comprised two sixes and as many fours.th eight overs to spare.

End of match: Delhi climb up to 4th spot with thumping win

Delhi Daredevils ended their 9-match losing streak at the Feroz Shah Kotla with a thumping win over the struggling Mumbai Indians. The 37 run win also condemned Mumbai to their fifth defeat in six games and they now face an uphill battle to make the playoffs. Delhi however move on to brighter things. After two seasons of mediocre results, they now find themselves in the right half of the table. The Shreyas Iyer-Duminy stand set the game up. Chasing 191 was always going to be difficult and MI didn't help their cause by losing wickets at frequent intervals. Once again, back to the drawing board for them.

Overs 16-18: Tahir treble puts DD on the cusp of win

Imran Tahir's third over put DD firmly in control of the match. The South African leg-spinner dismissed Hardik Pandya , Ambati Rayudu and Mitchell McClenaghan in one over as Mumbai hurtled towards their fifth loss of the season. Tahir displayed guile and variations in abundance and was duly rewarded. He will take the purple cap back from Nehra after this display.

Coulter-Nile then bowled one short-ball too many and was dispatched for six by Harbhajan in a nine-run over. Too late for MI.

Overs 14-16: Coulter-Nile gets Rohit

Right on cue, Imran Tahir comes along and bowls an incredibly tidy over. Rohit and Rayudu were happy working the leading spinner for singles and only 5 came off the 15th over increasing the required rate once again.

Rayudu then proceeded to hit Nathan Coulter-Nile for two fours off the first two balls before the Australian came back to dismiss the Mumbai skipper Rohit Sharma with a short ball that the batsman skied and was caught by Nadeem.

Overs 12-14: Ro-Ray try to fightback

Rohit Sharma and Ambati Rayudu attempted to rescue the Mumbai Innings by going after the Delhi spinner. Rohit Sharma smoked a straight six off Amit Mishra to set the ball rolling. The leggie conceded 11 from his final over to end with figures of 4-0-32-2. He's done his bit.

Nadeem in his next over conceded two more sixes and Mumbai reached 115/4 after 14 overs. A glimmer of hope as long as these two are around. Remember, Tahir still has 3 overs left!

Overs 10-12: Mishra removes Pollard

Mumbai Indians' hopes of overhauling Delhi's total of 190 was dealt a severe blow when Amit Mishra sent back the danerous Kieron Pollard after the West Indian miscued a lofted shot and holed out to Nadeem who ran from extra-cover and completed a safe catch. All depends on Rohit now! Here's Rayudu.

Nadeem then gave away just 5 off his second over to change the equation to 102 off 8 overs for MI. Rohit-Rayudu need to get the boundaries now.

Overs 8-10: Mishra removes Chand

Unmukt Chand perished in Amit Mishra's next over looking to step out and hit the leg-spinner but got deceived in the flight, missed the ball and was out stumped. With the asking rate climbing, Mumbai brought on power hitter Kieron Pollard.

Even for natural stroke makers like Rohit, Pollard this chase is going to be tricky. 12 off the 20 overs could be bowled by mainline spinners!Imran Tahir was then introduced into the attack in the 10th over and was hit for a six by Pollard and ended up conceding nine despite a good start.

Overs 6-8: Spin is in

Amit Mishra was introduced into the attack straight after the powerplay. The leggie got appreciable turn in his first over and despite getting his line wrong on a couple of deliveries bowled a fairly decent over. From the other end, Shahbaz Nadeem, playing hi first IPL game of the season, was brought on and the left-arm spinner despite bowling a couple of wides, gave away just 5 runs

Overs 4-6: Simmons, Patel fall to super catches

Lendl Simmons was dismissed courtesy a blinder of a catch by JP Duminy. Attempting to muscle a Dominic Joseph length delivery over long on, Simmons ended up getting more height than distance and Duminy, back pedaling al the way plucked the ball out of thin air. Fantastic!

Despite the loss of Simmons, with the asking rate already crossing 10 an over, Parthiv Patel decided to take on new bowler Angelo Mathews and hit him for a four and a six before perishing attempting an encore. He pulled a short delivery towards deep mid-wicket where Imran Tahir completed an excellent catch. What fielding standards!!

Overs 2-4: Simmons takes on Coulter-Nile

Surprisingly, in the second over, Simmons struggled with his line and started off with a couple of wides before Simmons picked up a couple of boundaries to give the run-rate a boost. DD skipper decided to introduce himself into the attack as early as the fourth over. Surprising considering he has both Mishra and Tahir to turn to as well.

And just as we thought, Duminy's first over costed his side 14 runs. Parthiv cashed in on two short and wide deliveries outside off. Simmons added another four as Mumbai reached 35/0 - Exactly the same score as Delhi after 4 overs but a wicket less. In comes Unmukt on the back of a fifty against RCB.

First 2 Overs - Chase: Sedate start for MI

Coulter-Nile started off Delhi's defense of 191 and straightaway extracted some lateral movement off the Kotla surface. That however, was a one-time thing and Parthiv Patel hit a straight drive and got the Mumbai Innings away.

From the other end, Joseph Dominic too extracted bounce off the surface and kept a tight leash on the scoring rate before Parthiv shimmied down the pitch and whipped one past mid-wicket for a three. 11/0 after 2

Final 2 Overs: DD end with 190

Lasith Malinga bowled an outstanding penultimate over and conceded just the six runs as Yuvraj and Duminy failed to dig out his toe crushers. Bumrah , bowling the final over started off poorly as Duminy hit him for a straight six before conceding only 4 singles and picking the wicket of Yuvraj Singh.

Delhi ended with a formidable 190. This will take some getting !

Overs 16-18: Iyer falls; Mathews goes after a brisk cameo

Malinga ended young Iyer's 56-ball 83 when he bowled a full delivery straight at the base of the leg stump after Iyer missed an attempted ramp short. The stump was broken in half but Iyer could walk away with his head held high having played a scintillating innings. DD's decision to send Mathews above Yuvraj got them a couple of quick boundaries as the Sri Lankan ODI captain picked up a couple of fours and two straight after coming on.

The right-hander played with the field and picked out the gaps to perfection before getting caught behind of McClenaghan. 17 off 8 for him as DD reached 174-3 after 18 !

Overs 14-16: 150 up in 16 overs!

Rohit Sharma, with no Corey Anderson to bowl a couple of overs, had to resort to bowling the young Hardik Pandya in the crucial second phase of the innings. To his credit, Pandya bowled fairly disciplined lines as Iyer, visibly tiring, attempted a few ungainly shot. A boundary came off the over before Duminy took on Bumrah from the other end.

Bowling at a gentle medium pace, Bumrah's lines played into Duminy's strength. A fultoss on the off-side was crunched through cover before a length delivery was smashed over the mid-wicket fence. 150 off the partnership. The highest of this IPL

Overs 12-14: Duminy gets to his fity

36 from 2 became 48 from 3 as Mitchell McClenaghan, despite bowling four solid deliveries, was taken for a four and a six by Iyer. The 19-year old then went after Harbhajan, who continued to toss the ball up, and slog swept him for a couple of monstrous sixes over deep midwicket. Duminy attempted the same himself and got the top-edge but thankfully for him, the ball fell in no man's land allowing him to complete his half-cent

Overs 10-12: Iyer, Duminy begin attack

Shreyas Iyer and Duminy picked their bowlers to attack. After seeing out a quiet period against the likes of Harbhajan, the duo opened up when Rohit brought on Bumrah back into the attack. Iyer went six, four and four to complete a 37-ball half-century, his second in the IPL. The youngster has surely impressed.

Not to be left behind, Duminy tore into Pollard in the next over and picked up 20 runs as Delhi reached 100/1 in the 12 th over.

Overs 8-10: Harbhajan, Pollard keep the pressure on DD

Harbhajan Singh completed his third over and by then had conceded only 16 runs as Delhi continued to find the runs hard to come by. Rohit Sharma kept rotating his bowlers and Kieron Pollard, bowling from way behind the crease didn't allow either batsmen to free their arms.

Overs 6-8: Harbhajan continues to be miserly

Harbhajan's next over was equally miserly. The offie kept both Duminy and Iyer on the lookout by tossing deliveries up and inviting them to go over the top. Using all his experience is Bhajji!

Hardik Pandya, despite conceding a boundary in his first over, came back well to concede only 7 runs of the over. Mumbai have done well to pull things back. Duminy and Iyer haven't gotten off to a flier.

Overs 4-6: Rohit brings on Harbhajan

Straight after the initial onslaught, Rohit Sharma was forced to bring on his leading spinner, Harbhajan Singh. The offie who's been in good form in the early stages of IPL bowled slower through the air, giving the ball loop, but was unlucky to see catches fall short of the fielders and outside edges going for four.

Rohit also brought on Lasith Malinga for a second over and the premier fast bowler gave away just 2 runs to give MI, a semblance of control. Delhi however will be very happy with this start - 45/1 after the powerplay. They'll take this.

Overs 2-4: Duminy, Iyer counter-attack

Despite the loss of an early wicket both Duminy and Iyer were keen on putting away any bad ball on offer. McClenaghan bowled one slower-ball too many and was lifted towards the long-on fence for four by Iyer who cut the next delivery over backward point for a big six.

Rohit Sharma introduced Jasprit Bumrah in the next over and the young medium pacer struggled to get his line right and was tonked for two sixes by Duminy as Delhi raced away to 35/1 after 4 overs @ almost 9 per over. Great counter-attack. When will Rohit bring on Harbhajan?

First 2 Overs: DD lose Agarwal early

In his interview with Cricbuzz, Shreyas Iyer sheepishly remarked how Agarwal and him have fired in alternate matches. That pattern repeated itself (or so it would seem) as Mayank Agarwal fell early attempting an ill-fated pull shot off Mitchell McClaneghan and scooping a simple catch to Rayudu at square leg.

Both Iyer and Duminy appeared to struggle on a slightly two-paced wicket at the Kotla as Mumbai's new ball bowlers restricted Delhi to 11/1 after 2.

Toss: Unchanged MI opt to bowl

Fresh from their victory over RCB at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, MI captain Rohit Sharma named an unchanged side and opted to field first at the Feroz Shah Kotla. Delhi made one change and brought on left-arm spinner Shahbaz Nadeem in place of the misfiring Manoj Tiwary.
